According to the Manitoba birth registration (#1908-010638), Emily Elizabeth Inez Dickey was born in Selkirk, 17 November 1908.

ZIMMERMAN, Emily Elizabeth (nee Dickey) November 17, 1908 - December 9, 2008 Peacefully at home in her 101st year. Beloved wife of 67 years to Bernard Zimmerman. Loving mother of Suzan and John (Helga) and grandmother of Alexandra and Ryan. Sister of the late Anna, Herbert and Robert. Dear aunt, great-aunt and great-great aunt to the extended Dickey, Nunn and Zimmerman families. She will be held close in the hearts of many who knew her. Our thanks to Dr. Lisa Cross for her medical care and kindness and to Maria, from Saint Elizabeth Health Care, who helped us make mom so comfortable over these last few weeks. During her life, Emily was a daughter, sister, VON nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, volunteer and singer. Family, service and music were the themes of Emily's life. Friends may call at the Westboro Chapel of the Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road at Roosevelt on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment at Pinecrest Cemetery.
