This is a one-story tan brick with one-over-one windows, with slightly recessed brick around the windows. Seven steps lead to a centered double-door entrance flanked by wood pillars with a fixed transom. The post office opened in June 1940 and has operated continuously to this day. Flanking the entrance are two original wall lamps, and an aluminum eagle above the door also dates to 1940.
As seen in post offices of this era, there is a office door leading to the Postmaster’s office in the lobby. The door is dark wood with heavy wood framing. Flanking this door are two glass-doored wall units for Bulletins. Above this door is a WPA-sponsored mural entitled “Chickasaw Family Making Pah Sho Fah,” by artist Solomon McCombs which was painted in 1942.
