On the north side of the Love County Courthouse are several benches dedicated to Love County residents.

This bench is a metal slatted bench painted green. The circular dedication plaque reads:

Fern Ann
Markwell
A true friend to
Love County

Mrs. Markwell (4/16/1927-10/20/2008) was influential in many of the community projects in Love County, including the courthouse pavers, the Love County Library, a senior citizen apartment complex and the Love County Military Museum.
