Leading horticulturalists are going missing. Steed traces them to the home of Sir Lyle Petersen. He also discovers a plant that has fallen from space. According to Doctor Sheldon the plant has brain cells and its food source is human beings. Apparently the plant is brainwashing the horticulturalists into bringing it to life. Steed finds out that wearing a hearing aid blocks the brainwashing. With a gallon of herbicide and hearing aids Steed and Mrs Peel destroy the plant and save the planet.
