This is the site of Nanango's first cemetery where the remains of many of the pioneers of the town are interred.

Nanango was first settled in 1846 and civil registrations of deaths did not start until 1856. The first burial in the Burnett Cemetery was in 1862 and the last was in 1875. There are 33 names listed on the plaque commemorating the cemetery. Only one headstone still stands that of Ethel Gertrude Lee.
