Our trip to France in April May 2015 followed the Lot River downstream and returned upstream along the Tarn. Lot rises at Mt Lozere en Gevaudan and dscends 210 km to the confluence with the Truyère River at Entraygues. The Lot continues west 270 km to the confluence with the Garonne. The Truyere descents 175 km from its source in the Monts de la Margeride to this confluence. The Truyere is exploited for hydro electric power with six major dams and generating staions along its course. This provides about 10% of the hydro electric power in France. At the confluence is the Chateau de Entraygues, now a private school.
