The importance of rail travel has declined over the years & what was once a bustling station with passenger & freight services now only has two passenger services per week. The Westlander, which runs between Brisbane & Charleville, stops at Toowoomba.
The station was opened in 1867 & is at the junction of the Western, Southern & Main railway lines. Freight services now run through the Willowburn Station on the outskirts of Toowoomba.
