This marker was placed in 1966 by the Department of National Defence when this was the Canadian Services College, Royal Roads, later renamed Royal Roads Military College in 1968. In 1995, the military college closed and the public Royal Roads University was formed.
The concrete post was presumably square to the ground when originally placed, but it's now tilted slightly to one side.
