"The American Servicewomen's Memorial was the first monument erected in the US to honor servicewomen. Yes, in Collbran Colorado! Dick Cummins, deceased, led the American Legion project which was completed in 1976.
The Town of Collbran received a donation from the Women's Army Corps Veterans Association, Mile Hi Chapter #76, in honor and in memory of

This memorial is found in the tiny western-slope community of Collbran. The memorial honors the contributions of American Servicewomen in the four major branches of the US military. The rainbow atop the memorial honors the contribution regardless of sexual orientation.
