It was placed there on 8th October 1969 to mark the centenary of Local Government in Allora. It is to be opened during the bi-centenary celebrations of Allora in 2069. The sandstone cover is cracked & being held together by the plaque at the moment.

The time capsule plaque is worded:

Allora Shire Council

This capsule was officially buried by Cr F.A. Rogers President of the Darling Downs Local Government Association on 8th October 1969 to mark the centenary of Local Government in Allora. To be opened during the bi-centenary celebrations of Allora in 2069.
