A bridge on Douglas Road over the Mumford River was dedicated in honor of Marine Lance Cpl. Thomas S. Perron, one of 241 servicemen killed in a bombing in 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon, that has been described as the single deadliest attack on Americans since World War II.

The newly constructed Douglas Road bridge was part of a roadway reconfiguration that eliminated the square that had previously been dedicated in memory of Cpl. Perron.
