The confluence is north (upstream) from the Main Street bridge. The bridge provides a good view of the rivers, especially since there is a good chance you will be stopped on the bridge because of a traffic light at the end of the bridge.

There is a pull off by the bridge where you can launch boats on the Tioughnioga River.

wikipedia for Tioughnioga: (visit link)

The Tioughnioga River is a tributary of the Chenango River which it meets at Chenango Forks. There are two branches of the Tioughnioga, east and west. The West is 15.6 miles long and start at Tully Lake, a glacial kettle lake. The East Branch 21.4 miles long starts near Syracuse.

wikipedia Otselic River: (visit link)

The Otselic River is 55.4-mile-long, starting at Tropy Pond (used to start at Hatch Lake). It is impounded to form the Whitney Point Reservoir. Below the dam it joins the Tioughnioga.

"The Otselic River holds both native brook trout and stocked brown trout in the upper reaches and warmer water species such as smallmouth bass, walleyes and northern pike in the lower southern sections. Before the Otselic River was dammed in 1942 to form the Whitney Point Reservoir, eels and shad migrated up the Otselic River from the Susquehanna River."

A book on canoe/kayak launches says that the Otselic River is "not for the novice... numerous sharp turns, debris, strainers and sweeps". (It lists 11 launches on the Tioughnioga and 10 for the Otselic River.)
