In the 1940’s, a reading group known as the Mars Literary Club began meeting in the Mars High School building. By 1947, it was clear that the community needed a proper library, prompting the group to obtain a charter and establish the Mars Public Library Association. Six short years later, the library outgrew its space in the high school and relocated to our current building on Grand Avenue.

The library’s service area includes Adams Township, Mars Borough, Middlesex Township and Valencia Borough, but the library serves families from throughout Butler County.
