Possum Holler has become a well-used term for country locales, and we were not able to develop whether this school, called Possum Holler School once stood in a little area known as Possum Holler, or not. A sign above the door reads "Possum Holler School / 1908 - 1936".
This is a one-story frame building, constructed in 1908. It has clapboard sides and a gable roof. Wood door entrances are located at the front and at the back of the right side wall. There are a total of seven two-over-two wood-framed single hung windows.
The school has been moved to Heritage Park, the location of the Canadian County Historical Museum and can be seen 24/7, although the museum itself is only open Wed-Sat: 10-5 and Sun: 1-5.
