This museum is well worth your visit. It is crammed full of artifacts from the early days of Oklahoma.

The Canadian County Historical Museum is located in the old Rock Island depot at 300 S. Grand at Heritage Park. The depot has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum has a wide variety of things to see indoors, and walking around the grounds is well worth it, even if you arrive when the museum is closed.
On the premises are an old Mennonite Church and the El Reno Hotel, both on the National Register. A turn of the century one-room school house is also located here. A log Red Cross Canteen from World War I has been restored and placed on the grounds. This canteen served 50,000 soldiers during that War.
Ever seen a petrified tree? There's one here! An historical marker tells us that El Reno was the west boundary of the Land Run of 1889, opening this area up to white settlement. You can't go wrong making a trip here to see this bit of history.
