The plaque here recalls 'The barge "Alde" was built at Slaughden Quay in 1882. It transported bricks to London and returned with stone to maintain the Alde river walls.'
Other Plaques include pictures of a Revenue Cutter and a Beach Yawl.
The plaques are all large, about 600mm in diameter and cast in brass. They are set into the pavements in circles of granite setts in the old town to the east of High Street in pedestrian access routes between High Street and Crag Path.
