Devil's tor is a small Granite outcrop in the wilds of North Dartmoor.

Although named Devil's Tor there is little folklore associated with this rocky outcrop, the only reference I am aware relates to a nearby large Bronze Age menhir or standing stone. The following remark was made to William Crossing A well known Dartmoor walker and author:-

"...the pillar represented the Devil, and that the tor, which can hardly be truely regarded as such, was plenty good enough vur he." Crossing's Guide, p.119.
