On September 21, 1940 the official town of Hoogeveen was opened.
Her was designed by architect C. J. Blaauw in the style of the Delft School.
Characteristic here is the use of traditional building materials such as brick and stone.
The design of the entrance and the bell tower determines the monumental character of the building.
