Next to the church in Gunzenhausen, Germany, Bayern was an ancient Roman fort located. Remains of the ramperts and the headquarters' building have been found here in 1897.

The fort's gates were protected by towers. Its size was 86x80 meters.
It was the home of about 100-120 solders who were responsible for patrolling the nearby Limes.

Today there are no visible remains.

But there's a modern information board about the fort.
And an older inscription at a building which states the destruction of the fort to 233 AD.

It can be visited all the times without any fee.
