This survey marker was found in the sidewalk in front of the Bucksport town hall and across the street from the Bucksport Library.

According to the Maine Department of Transportation's data sheet for a marker with the designation "2626-30", which this one bears, this station is "a punch mark in the top of a R/R Spike driven at the end of the Easterly most parking stripe on the South side of Rte 15." It "replaces ...2626-30 1989..., a disk in the sidewalk which was destroyed by construction".

Granted, the "1989" can't be read on this disk, but the "2626-30" is quite legible. This disk is possibly 20, maybe 25 feet from the location of the new station described in the datasheet.

Perhaps this is a Phantom Survey Disk... ...it reappears regularly on odd numbered Tuesdays when the moon is full.
