STATION DESCRIPTION

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1949 (ERM)
THE APPARENT STATION IS THE SPIRE ON THE SOUTH PARISH
CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH LOCATED AT THE INTERSECTION OF CHURCH
AND FLAGG STREETS IN AUGUSTA.  THE SPIRE IS ON THE SW CORNER
OF CHURCH.  IT IS MOUNTED ATOP A STONE BELFRY, IS A TAPERING
PENTAGONALLY-SHAPED STRUCTURE, COVERED WITH SECTIONED COPPER
(WHICH LOOKS LIKE SLATE), AND HAS A SMALL BALL UPPERMOST.
ALTHOUGH THIS SPIRE HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO REPAIR, ITS ORIGINAL
POSITION WAS BELIEVED NOT TO HAVE BEEN DISTURBED.
