There are two white wood framed churches along Main Street in Brunswick, both of whose spires have been designated as benchmarks. This is the First Parish Church, on the south side of the street and a bit west of the other, the Universalist Church.

THE CROSS AT THE TOP OF A 140 FOOT, WHITE, WOOD, SPIRE ATOP THE
FIRST PARISH CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH.  LOCATED IN THE TOWN OF
YARMOUTH ON MAIN STREET 0.15 MILES FROM JUNCTION MAIN STREET AND
U.S. ROUTE 1 OVERPASS.
