The Brake Building is located at 114 S. Broadway in downtown Geary, and was constructed in 1910. This is a one-story tan brick building with a flat roof. The storefront has a single, centered aluminum and glass door, flanked by two display windows on each side, with brick kickplates. The clerestory is covered by a wood-shingled canopy.
The upper wall has rows of corbelled brick, and is segmented into three sections by brick pilasters. At the roof line, the center segment has a stepped parapet, with a recessed panel reading "BRAKE" and above that, a panel with a curved top reading "1910".
The building is currently occupied by two businesses, which apparently use the same entrance. On the left is the local newspaper, The Geary Star, and on the right is a "general store" called Country Cousins.
