Overlooking the Bagley Lakes the Heather Meadows Visitor Center allows vistors to the Mt Baker National Forest to get the latest information on trail conditions.

This ranger station is only open when the snow melts enough that driving on the last four miles of State Route 542 is deemed safe. Usually this July through October.

Originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1940 as a ski warming hut, the Heather Meadows Visitor Center was restored to serve as a ranger station.
