The sign in the front lists the founding as 1828. The historical society says the church was built in 1831. The familysearch.org site has the following:
"The first church was built in 1831 by Edward White on land donated by Dr. Robert H. Rose. In 1838 the old church was replaced with a larger building. This second church was enlarged in the early 1860's. By the early 1900's the church in the cemetery was again too small for the congregation. In 1906 the present church was built and the church in the cemetery taken down."
Saint Brigid is the name for the consolidated parish.
The cemetery is across the road. It has several graves from the 1800s. "First burial in cemetery August 19, 1831"
