Turns out this is strictly a cowboy hangout - possibly the farthest east western joint in Canada. The big steer horns and pink cowboy hat outside should have been a tip-off, though.
Through the day The
Factory Cookhouse & Dancehall is a restaurant and lounge, with tables covering the entire floor. In the evening, though, they metaphorically toss out the tables and the original old board floor becomes a dance hall for two-steppin', waltzin' and line-dancin'. They bring in live music, supplemented by DJs playing your favourites late into the night. Though Country is the main fare, they play a fair amount of classic rock, as well. If you're not a cowboy/cowgirl or a boomer this place prolly isn't for you.
The Factory prides itself on being Prince Edward Island's only dedicated smokehouse, "
offering a selection of premium Island meat, smoked for hours and hours in our authentic smokers".
On Kent Street at Prince Street on the edge of downtown Charlottetown, parking can be a bit of an issue here - you'll just have to try your luck.
