L'hôtel de ville de La Prairie est situé à La Place La Prairie au 170 boulevard Taschereau, près de l'intersection du boulevard Taschereau et du chemin de Saint-Jean. Les locaux qu'il occupe en tant que locataire depuis 1990 font partie d'un édifice commercial qui est la propriété de Gestion MVF. Un renouvellement de bail est prévu en 2020.

L'édifice est composé d'une partie centrale de quatre étages et de deux ailes de deux étages qui forment un angle de 90 degrés. On pourrait croire que le bloc central est l'hôtel de ville mais ce n'est pas tout à fait le cas. Bien qu'on trouve des bureaux de la ville tout de suite en entrant au rez-de chaussée, la ville n'occupe pas tout. Dans l'édifice, en plus de l'hôtel de ville, on trouve le siège social d'un important restaurateur québécois, un grand centre de conditionnement physique, quelques magasins et quelques cliniques.

The Town Hall of La Prairie is located in La Place La Prairie at 170 Taschereau Boulevard, near the intersection of Taschereau Boulevard and Chemin de Saint-Jean. The premises occupied as a tenant since 1990 are part of a commercial building which is the property management MVF. A lease renewal is expected in 2020.

The building consists of a central part with four floors and two wings of two floors which form a 90 degree angle. One might think that the central block is the town hall but this is not quite the case. Although one can see a city office (archives) immediately on entering the ground floor, the city does not fill the whole block. In the building, in addition to the town hall, is the headquarters of an important Quebec restaurateur, a large fitness center, a few shops and some clinics.
