Byl vystaven na míste puvodní kaple z pocátku 13. století Janem Kristianem z Roggendorfu v roce 1699. Z rady náhrobníku se na severní stene interiéru dochoval hodnotný renesancní náhrobník Kateriny Drnovské z Drnovic a Hessensteina. Náhrobníky z presbytáre byly v 60. letech 20. století premísteny na jižní venkovní stenu kostela, odkud byly v roce 2001, vzhledem ke znacnému poškození povetrnostními podmínkami vyjmuty, zrestaurovány a premísteny do zámecké kaple.
V posledních letech 20. století prošel kostel i fara radou stavebních úprav. V roce 1996 probehla oprava veže kostela, pri níž byla v její báni nalezena dve pouzdra s historickými dokumenty z r. 1886. V roce 1998 byli pri opravách interiéru objevené stredoveké figurální i ornamentální malby.
V roce 2000 byla farnost obsazena knezem. Ve spolupráci s odborem kultury mesta Rájec-Jestrebí se v kostele konají koncerty peveckých sboru a nejruznejších interpretu klasické hudby.

It was built on the site of the original chapel from the early 13th century by Jan Kristian of Roggendorf in 1699. Of the many tombstones on the north wall of the interior have been preserved valuable Renaissance tombstone of Catherine Drnovská Drnovic and Hessenstein. Tombstones of the presbytery were in the 60s of the 20th century moved to the southern external wall of the church, where they were in 2001, given the significant weather damage removed, restored and moved to the chapel.
In the last years of the 20th century the church rectory numerous alterations. In 1996 the church tower was repaired at which the dome was found two packages with historical documents from r. 1886. In 1998, it was discovered during repairs indoors medieval figural and ornamental paintings.
In 2000, the parish priest occupied. In cooperation with the Department of Culture Rájec-Jestrebí in church choirs are held concerts and various performers of classical music.
