The monument from the state of West Virginia installed at the Vicksburg National Military Park in Mississippi features a bust of Major Arza Goodspeed, killed in action in the campaign. The memorial is located on Union Avenue in the park.

The state memorial for West Virginia represents the 4th West Virginia Infantry, and commemorates the regiment's commander, Major Arza M. Goodspeed. It is located on Union Avenue south of Graveyard Road.

The West Virginia State Memorial commemorates the 4th West Virginia Infantry and Maj. Arza Goodspeed, who was killed during the assault on the Confederate defenses on May 19, 1863. This was the only West Virginia unit to participate in the Campaign and Siege of Vicksburg, and suffered 156 casualties during the conflict. The Memorial was dedicated on November 14, 1922.

The bust sits along Union Avenue in the park, not far past the Wisconsin Monument.
