The Geelong West World War 1 memorial is a flagstaff set in a marble base with bronze reliefs, was erected at a cost of £750,funded by the citizens of Geelong West to commemorate those who served in The Great War 1914 -1918. The memorial is in a civic square in front of the Town Hall
The inscription on the front reads :-
For King and Country
The Great War
1914 - 1918
Whilst on the other three sides are dedicated to the battlefields of Gallipoli, Palestine and France
