Known to most birders simply as the Viera Wetlands, the Ritch Grissom Memorial Wetlands at Viera is a water treatment facility that covers almost 200 acres, with water flowing through shallow-water cells for reclamation.
This site is an exceptional place for birding by car, on foot, or by bicycle. There is a maintained road around each cell and two observation towers provide excellent views over the entire area. Vehicles are allowed on all roads unless wet weather creates unsafe conditions.
