Monument to those from Meaford and St Vincent Township who served in the Great War.

The monument consists of a bronze statue of a field-dressed Canadian soldier on a cement pedestal. The names of some First World War battles are inscribed on the cement pedestal. Courcellette, Vimy, Amiens, Passchendaele and Arras are prominent.

The sides carry plaques bearing the names of those killed in the war.

The front base carries the inscription:

In Honoured Memory
Of The Men Of
The Town Of Meaford and
St Vincent Township Who
Died For King and Country
In The Great World War

1914 - 1919

A bronze plaque is affixed to the side. Under the Town Crest, the marker reads:

Honour Roll

There are 43 names listed.

At the bottom, the text reads:

Their Names Liveth
For Evermore

Plaques were added after the end of the Second World War listing an additional 35 names of those who died.

Finally, a small brass marker was added to the front of the monument in 1994. This acknowledges all those who died in World War I, World War II and Korea.
