This water pump no longer works but it was a nice discovery here at the historic Little Shasta Church. We located a historical marker in front of the church that gives some history behind it and reads:
Dedicated to the memory of the Pioneers of Little Shasta Valley who raised this House to the Glory of God.On March 5, 1876 The Little Shasta Congregational Church was formed. It was in 1877 that the first subscriptions were taken for the present building. One year later on July 28, 1878 the church construction was completed and the dedication took place. Dedicated by the Siskiyou Chapter 8-131-CA Daughters of the American Revolution July 28, 2008 |
I tried to find some markings on the water pump but found nothing to give me clues to what company made it. This old church is one of the few remaining structures in the community of Little Shasta.
