[DE] Der Aussichtsturm am Möhnesee ist ein Projektbaustein des EFRE-Projekts "WaldMeer". EFRE, oder auch Europäischer Fonds für regionale Entwicklung, ist ein von der EU gefördertes Programm, welches die Regionalentwicklung fördert.
Die Gesammthöhe des Turmes von 42m und insgesammt drei Plattformen ermöglichen einen malerischen Ausblick auf den Möhnesee, der auch als westfälisches Meer bekannt ist. Fensterausschnitte in der Fassade leiten den Blick des Besuchers und unterbrechen optisch die Verkleidung aus Douglasienhölzern. Angekommen auf der obersten Plattform - nachdem man den Anstieg über 206 Stufen samt Spindeltreppe geschafft hat - befindet man sich gut 326m ü. N.N. und kann weit in das umgebende "WaldMeer" des Arnsberger Waldes blicken.
Der Turm steht auf einem Fundament aus ca. 336t Beton und wurde nach einer Bauzeit von vier Monaten am 05.05.2015 offiziell eingeweiht.
[ENG] The observation tower at Möhnesee is a project component of the ERDF project "A Sea of ??Trees" . ERDF or European Regional Development Fund, is an EU-funded program which promotes regional development.
The Total height of the tower of 42m and total of three platforms provide a spectacular view over the Möhnesee , which is also known as Westphalian sea . Panels in the facade conduct the passer and interrupt the optical cladding Douglas fir timbers . Arrived on the top platform - after you've managed to rise above 206 levels including spiral staircase - you find yourself good 326m above sea level and can look far into the surrounding "Sea of Trees" of the Arnsberg Forest.
The tower stands on a foundation of about 336T concrete and was officially inaugurated after a construction period of four months at 05/05/2015 .
