The Art Gallery contains one of the best examples of Aboriginal stencil art in Australia.

Over two thousand engravings, ochre stencils and freehand paintings adorn the 62 metre long sandstone walls of this significant Aboriginal site.
The site is accessed via a Class 3 walk of 10.8 Kilometres return which takes about 3 to 4 hours. The slope is gentle with steep steps at the end to the gallery. There are numerous creek crossings utilizing natural stepping stones. It is 45 kilometres from the highway to the park with 15 kilometres of gravel. Conventional vehicles should only attempt the drive in dry weather.
The Art Gallery is a protected zone & you must stay on the boardwalk to view the art. There are several signs along the boardwalk which explain the significance of the art to the Bidjara & Karingbal Aboriginal people.
There is an engraved rainbow serpent, stencilled che-ka-ra pendants made from Melo baler shells, freehand nets telling of nearby burial sites, hand & boomerang prints, prints of emu feet, fertility symbols, engraved indentations representing a nest of emu eggs & four arms in a compass like position telling of meeting other tribes.
The gallery is only accessible during daylight hours. Accommodation within the park ranges from tents to cabins & you should book ahead during school holidays or if you want a powered site.
