Cumborah is in between two major opal mining areas - The Grawin & Lightning Ridge. The sign on the front of the church is the original, including the phone number - Walgett 90 - pre automatic telephone exchanges.
Because there is only one church in Cumborah it is a community church with Catholic Services also held here. It was consecrated a Church of England church on 19 July 1912 so has held up well.
The Anglican parish conducts their services on the second Sunday of the month at 12 noon with lunch afterwards.
