Position of brigade at beginning of Confederate charge into village of Pleasant Hill April 9, 1864. Ordered pull back the 14th Iowa, 27th Iowa and 24th Missouri complied. The 32nd Iowa did not and was overrun by the Confederates charging in and again when they withdrew, resulting in a regimental loss of 210 men. Casualties 14th Iowa - 80, 27th Iowa - 88, 27th Missouri - 96 for a total of 483 brigade casualties along this position April 9, 1864.
