The steam locomotive bicycle tenders were crafted by artist joseph Close from recycled steel donated by PSC Metals Inc. of Alliance. The steam locomotive theme commemorates the 2 railroads that crossed in Alliance in 1850 now owned by The Norfolk & Southern Railroad. The tenders are spaced out along Main Street. Each side of the rack has a painted image of the history of Alliance.
