This library building was funded by a 1902 grant of $20,000 from Andrew Carnegie with the stiplulation that the land be donated. The ground breaking ceremony was conducted April 27, 1903 and President Theodore Roosevelt participated. The building was designed by Tyler & Sons of Lincoln, Nebraska in a Neo-Classical Revival style. The building was completed in 1904 but not formally dedicated until 1907. The building was used as a library until 1974. It has now been converted into offices.
