Alvin Hutchison Van Pelt was one of the first settlers of the newly organized Ballinger Tx. His house is located at the corner of 10th and Phillips. It was built in 1901 and is significant for its Queen Anne architectural style. It has two stories and covered porch. It was entered into the NRHP in 1980.
