The image shows the lower body of a man who makes a step or jump.
The leg with which he steps on the floor changes into a tree trunk with roots in the ground.
Movement and simultaneously carrots are brought together in this in an imaginative way.
A symbol of the history of New Dordrecht.
Two events in the history of Nieuw-Dordrecht were important for the artists in the design of the sculpture "The construction".
Firstly, the construction, thousands of years ago, a wooden path through the bog. The remnants of this road are on the side of the Lord Zone, the path of New Dordrecht to Barger Compascuum, recovered.
Secondly, the plan, from the 19th century, a canal through digging the Hondsrug. In both cases, the efforts were to unlock the region. Neither one is stopped midway. Yet the consequences were ultimately of great significance for the development of Nieuw-Dordrecht.
The statue is 1.40 m high.
