The statue was designed by Jerzy Jarnuszkiewicz in year 1946, but the statue was finally erected in year 1983.
A little boy with rifle symbolizes all children and young people who have fought and died in Warsaw Uprising (although it was the youth who were fighting, not such young children, and most of them had no rifles).
The statue is standing at the wall of Old Town.
