A very active bridge over the Nooksack River. This through truss bridge can open to river traffic, but probably has not for years. Today is has two Amtrak trains and several freight trains connecting Vancouver, Deltaport, and Cherry Point to Seattle.

Connecting Vancouver, Deltaport, and Cherry Point to Seattle this swing through truss bridge on the BNSF line sees several trains a day pass over it. From the Amtrak Cascade passenger service to coal unit trains going to Deltaport in Canada.

As to the bridge being opened for river traffic, this has unlikely happened in years. A few hundred feet downstream is the Main Street Bridge that is a fixed and has a deck at almost the same level as the BNSF Nooksack River Bridge.

Bridge Type: Truss

Bridge Usage: Railroad

Moving Bridge: Swing Bridge (pivots to the side)
