L'Amphithéâtre Cogeco de Trois-Rivières est une infrastructure localisée à Trois-Rivières dans le secteur Trois-Rivières sur Saint-Laurent, lui-même situé à l'embouchure de la rivière Saint-Maurice et du fleuve Saint-Laurent. Cet édifice est destiné à présenter des spectacles de tous genres. Il se nomme ainsi grâce à une association qui s'étendra jusqu'en 2019 avec l'entreprise Cogeco, une société de télécommunications.
Cet amphithéâtre d'une surface totale de 14 000 m2 (150 700 pi2) offrira 3500 places assises et 5500 places debout sur une esplanade gazonnée, pour un total de 9000 spectateurs.
La cage de scène sera munie d'une porte automatisée qui permet de la refermer pour l'isoler de l'extérieur durant l'hiver. Ainsi des évènements corporatifs, des lancements et autres soirées de prestige pourront s'y tenir à l'année. De mai à septembre, l'Amphithéâtre présentera ses spectacles sur la grande scène.
L'amphithéâtre sera aussi muni d'une équipe de bar, de bureaux administratifs et de loges pour environ cinquante artistes. Il sera aussi équipé de tout près de deux-cents toilettes et équipements sanitaires.
Le projet porté par le maire de la ville de Trois-Rivières Yves Lévesque a été annoncé en 2009 pendant les célébrations du 375e anniversaire de Trois-Rivières. Le gouvernement de Québec et celui du Canada ont offert à la ville en guise de cadeau quarante millions de dollars pour le projet. Plusieurs controverses sont liées à l'Amphithéâtre de Trois-Rivières notamment celle avec le Groupe ADF pour des dépassements de coûts.
En 2009, un concours d'architecture a été mis sur pied, intéressant même des architectes européens. Le 5 avril 2011, le jury a fait connaître son choix. Séduit par son projet intitulé « Le Temple », le jury a choisi l'architecte montréalais Paul Laurendeau, justifiant son choix par les raisons suivantes:
- l’élégance de son caractère monumental et son ouverture généreuse vers la rivière Saint-Maurice et le fleuve Saint-Laurent qui contribueront à l’image de marque de la ville de Trois-Rivières ;
- la qualité de son implantation, la mise en valeur du site et la qualité des espaces publics riverains ;
- la qualité des espaces intérieurs en termes d’apport de lumière naturelle ;
- la clarté et la simplicité de l’organisation spatiale.
Une entente de principe conclue avec le Cirque du Soleil s'étalera sur une période de trois ans et prévoit vingt représentations au cours de la saison estivale à compter de 2015. Chaque année, il est prévu qu'un nouveau spectacle soit développé. Pour l'Amphithéâtre l'entente avec le Cirque du Soleil est un premier pas pour obtenir une programmation solide et de qualité.

The Trois-Rivières Cogeco Amphitheatre is located in the Trois-Rivières area on the St. Lawrence, itself located at the mouth of the Saint-Maurice River and the St. Lawrence River. This building is intended to present performances of all kinds. It is so named thanks to an association which will run until 2019 with Cogeco, a telecommunications company.
This amphitheater with a total area of 14000 m2 (150 700 ft2) will offer 3500 seats and 5500 standing room on a grassy esplanade for a total of 9000 spectators.
The stage will be equipped with an automatic door that can be closed the to insulate it from the outside during winter. Thus corporate events, launches and other prestigious evenings will be held year round. From May to September, the Amphitheatre will present its shows on its big stage.
The amphitheater will be equipped with a bar staff, administrative offices and dressing rooms for about fifty artists. It will also be equipped with close to two hundred toilets and sanitary equipment.
The project led by the Mayor of the City of Trois-Rivières, Yves Lévesque, was announced in 2009 during celebrations of the 375th anniversary of Trois-Rivières. The governments of Quebec and Canada have offered to the city a gift of forty million dollars for the project. Several controversies are related to the Trois-Rivières Amphitheater notably with ADF Group for cost overruns.
In 2009, an architectural competition was launched that interested even European architects. April 5, 2011, the jury announced its choice. Seduced by his project entitled "The Temple", the jury chose Montreal architect Paul Laurendeau, justifying its choice for the following reasons:
- The elegance of its monumental character and generous opening to the Saint-Maurice River and the St. Lawrence River that will contribute to the brand image of the city of Trois-Rivières;
- The quality of its implementation, the development of the site and the quality of coastal public spaces;
- The quality of interior spaces in terms of natural light;
- Clarity and simplicity of the spatial organization.
A tentative agreement with Cirque du Soleil will be spread over a period of three years and will provide twenty performances during the summer season starting in 2015. Each year it is expected that a new show is developed. For the Trois-Rivières Amphitheatre, this agreement with Cirque du Soleil is a first step to obtain a solid, quality programming.
