SUMMARY:
A uniformed Civil War soldier stands at parade rest, holding the barrel of his rifle at chest height, the butt of which rests by his feet. He wears a wide-brimmed hat, thigh-length jacket, small backpack, with a canteen slung over his shoulder on his back proper left. The soldier is mounted upon a tall, multitiered, square base that includes the following reliefs around the upper top: front, crossed rifles; back, crossed cannons; side, crossed swords; other side, anchor. The base section below the reliefs contains, on the front, a relief of an emblem with an eagle clutching a badge; and, on the back, an WRC cross. The lower sections of the base are stepped, with an inscription on the front. The monument is surrounded by a short fence.
