""A Christmas Carol" at the Whaley House
By Michael Stetz3:41 P.M.DEC. 10, 2010
Name a better venue to feature a story about three ghosts visiting that mean old man, Ebenezer Scrooge, than the Whaley House, which some claim to be haunted.
The Save Our Heritage Organisation is staging the event on Tuesday, Dec. 14. The Charles Dickens classic will unfold as you go from room to room of the historic brick mansion in Old Town.
The cost is $8. Performances will be held every half hour from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Each one lasts about 25 minutes.
The Whaley House was built in 1857. Even back then it was believed to be haunted. The Whaley family reported hearing heavy footsteps move about the house.
