Michal Olšiak, born in 1978 in Ždár nad Sázavou, deals i.a. with creation of monument concrete sculptures of various animals, creatures, fairy tale figures etc (http://www.olsiak.cz/). On December 22, 2013 the statue of the Devil playing chess was dedicated in a small park at Herrmannova street in Chotebor. The statue is made of painted concrete. The statue refers to a local tourist attraction of the same name, i.e. Certuv stolek (The Devil's Table), which is a rocky structure located in nearby valley of Doubrava river called here also as "a miniature Grand Canyon" .

Tri metry vysoká socha certa, který hraje šachy, byla slavnostne odhalena 22. 12. 2013. Najdete ji v Chotebori v Herrmannove ulici, u silnice smer Ždírec nad Doubravou. Socha odkazuje na dávnou legendu spojenou s nedalekým údolím reky Doubravy.
