Veverka obecná (Sciurus vulgaris) je stredne velký hlodavec z celedi veverkovitých (Sciuridae) obývající široké území v rozmezí od západní Evropy až po východní Asii. V Ceské republice ji nalezneme v lesích všech typu, parcích, alejích, vetších zahradách nebo hrbitovech se stromovým porostem.
