USGS '50 AA 1953' BM - Jackson County, OR - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this U.S. Geological Survey benchmark from 1953 in good condition. Mark is monumented on top of a round concrete monument projecting about 3 inches from the ground. This station is not listed in the NGS database. It is listed on a topography map as 'BM 5063' and the disk face contains an elevation stamping of '4962' along with the designation stamping of '50 AA' and the date stamp of '1953'. There is a trail sign located about 20 feet south of the BM that says 'BLUE CANYON TRAIL 6'. My posted coordinated will place you very close to this mark.

*NOTE* This is the first BM I've recovered where the topography map elevation listing was drastically different than the elevation stamping on the disk.
