Sitting in a beautiful park-like setting between the two large justice buildings in downtown Columbus, the gavel serves as the centerpiece of a large reflecting pool. The giant piece of art was created by Andrew Scott in 2008.

Along Front Street in Downtown Columbus are located two pedestrian plazas-courtyards with some unique statues, flag poles and tidal basins/fountains. This is the large metal judicial gavel in honor if the Ohio Supreme Court. There is also a fountain/tidal pool with words (Reason, Honor, Wisdom, Justice...) written in steel.
